Welcoming Message: From the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Extension

On behalf of the University, the Division of Research and Extension has organized this 12th International Conference, under the theme “Knowledge Solutions for the Society, the Economy and the Environment”. What informed the theme are the increasing societal needs for evidence based knowledge in matters challenging to the society, the economy and the environment, as reflected in the 17 SDGs. In this conference, a total of six keynote speeches will be delivered, 167 papers will be presented and 10 posters will be discussed by over 300 participants. There is a poster session on Wednesday to allow authors and participants engaged in discussions. The keynote speeches, papers and posters are discussing knowledge in diverse areas:

  4. Agro biodiversity management
  5. Food technology
  6. Utilizing antimicrobial properties
  7. Agro-industry development

  11. Livestock improvement
  12. Education reforms
  13. Agricultural machines & mathematical applications
  14. Curriculum reforms
  15. Agronomic practices
  16. Socio- cultural values

You will find in the conference bags an elevation form with provisions for daily feedback and certificate of participation. I urge you to fill the form daily and hand it in to registration desk staff. Your feedback will point to us services we need to prioritize to better your participation in future annual conferences. This is important to the Division of Research and Extension for effective organization of this annual event to create very good mood for you to share and disseminate your research and innovation outputs. This is a commitment we have undertaken in order that new knowledge from research is beneficial to advancing humanity.
